Our next Great House Tour will be Sunday, March 19, at Elley Villa on Linden Walk, Lexington. (Please see the attachment for full details).
Dr. James and Martha Birchfield rescued this pre-civil war home many years ago and it is a stunning treasure, right in the heart of Lexington, with a history from 1850 that includes everything from Mississippi plantation owners to eventually becoming the first location of St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. It even survived a stint as a fraternity house in the 1940s!
We will meet at 12:30 for coffee and mimosas in the “greenhouse” inside (or look for us on this fabulous porch, weather permitting). The Birchfields will lead a first-floor tour beginning at 12:45, which will feature not only the home itself, but also art and artifacts from the period. We will be seated for a leisurely brunch following the tour, and the Birchfields will be with us throughout to answer any questions the guests may have.
100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Well, as everything has been donated. We thank Martha and James Birchfield for their great generosity in opening their doors to this wonderful event and we hope you can join us.
RSVP soon, as seating for the brunch will necessarily be limited. Thank you, Dr. and Mrs. Birchfield, and thank you, other supporters of The Well!
